Co-accused in Williams Lake stabbing incident to go to trial next month

A trial date has been set for one of two people charged in connection with a stabbing incident in Williams Lake.

51-year old Laura Taylor is due back in Supreme Court on March 10th.

Taylor is charged with one count of aggravated assault.

34-year old Daniel Cahoose was also charged in connection with this case.

He pled guilty to the lesser charge of assault and was sentenced to 338 days in jail time served and 12 months probation.

Williams Lake RCMP were called to a local motel on 7th avenue back in May of 2023.

Police said they were responding to a report of a person being stabbed multiple times, and a victim was taken to hospital and was listed in stable condition.

RCMP say two suspects were quickly identified and were arrested at a home on 2nd Avenue with the help of the Emergency Response Team and Police Dog Services.
