The Mcleese Lake Volunteer Fire Department was given a very generous donation recently.
Back on May 5th the department received a new ambulance from Spanish Mountain Gold Limited.
Torey Lee is a member of the Mcleese Lake Volunteer Fire Department and told us how the donation came about.
“They had seen our old ambulance at a Celebration of Life in Likely for the Likely Fire Chief and thought that maybe their ambulance that had been sitting unused for two or three years could find a better home and a better use.”
And the paying forward of equipment donations didn’t end there.
Lee said their old ambulance has moved on to another Cariboo Fire Department.
“That ambulance originally was a mine rescue vehicle for Highland Valley Copper and it went to the Horsefly Fire Department as their ambulance and when they got a new one it came to us and now it’s gone to Riske Creek.”
Lee says it’s not often you get donations of equipment like their new ambulance and that they are very thrilled to have it.
Something going on in the Cariboo you think people should know about?
