Increased Trades Training Seats for Cariboo Students

“Training students in the Cariboo for BC jobs.”

That is the idea behind increased trades training seats for Quesnel and Williams Lake that was announced by the Provincial Government today.

What it means for Quesnel is 16 welding level C spaces at the College of New Caledonia campus.

Cariboo North MLA Coralee Oakes…

Oakes says trades training is a key component to diversifying the local economy.

Funding was also announced for Thompson Rivers University in Williams Lake.

Those programs, also for 16 students each, are for Saw filer level 1 beginning in January, Saw Filer level 2 in March and finally a Level 2 heavy duty mechanics course that will kick off in May.
