It was announced that School District 27 won’t see a change when it comes to leadership.
The Chair will remain occupied by Ciel Patenaude, and Vice Chair by Angie Delainey after their acclamation back on Tuesday (November 28th).
Superintendent Chris Van Der Mark says the outcome was largely expected after the boards first year.
“It’s not a big surprise that the key positions of Chair and Vice Chair were acclaimed.” says Van Der Mark.
“I think it’s also representative of kind of the coherence and stability that the district has been working hard to model these past four or five years.”
It’s also not expected that anything will drastically change with the work being done up to this point outside of the review with the strategic planning.
Van Der Mark says that up to this point, the key focus areas has been around Indigenous culture, leadership and instructional capacity, and most of them will likely continue in some fashion.
Other positions filled were for the BC Schools Trustees Association Representative, which was acclaimed by Mary Forbes, and Linda Martens for the BC Public Sector Employees Association Representative.
