On Wednesday, May 17, 2023, shortly before 5 pm, Williams Lake RCMP were called to a motel on 7th Avenue where it was reported that a person had been stabbed multiple times.
In a release, Corporal Madonna Saunderson said BC Emergency Health Services was on scene providing medical treatment and alerted the police.
“Police immediately attended and quickly identified two possible suspects and went to a home on 2nd Avenue where it was believed both suspects had fled following the assault.” Saunderson said, “Due to the seriousness of the assault, and evidence observed at and in the area of the home, police called for the assistance of the Emergency Response Team and Police Dog Services. For the safety of everyone, police closed several streets in the area to all traffic.”
After several hours Saunderson said two people, an adult man and an adult woman were arrested without further incident. They remain in custody pending a court appearance today (May 18) in Williams Lake.
Police said the victim was taken to hospital where it’s been reported he is in stable condition and expected to recover.
