Cariboo-Chilcotin MLA Gives Thoughts on Prolific Offender Recommendations

Multiple recommendations have come back from an investigation into the prolific offender issue.

This has been a massive talking point for many levels of government, all expressing similar concerns.

However, the findings from the investigation aren’t satisfactory as nothing from it helps immediately.

“I think the time for waiting and thinking about it, even the study itself, has long passed expired.” says Lorne Doerkson, Cariboo Chilcotin MLA.

“They need to be acted on immediately, particularly with respect to prolific offenders.”

Doerkson encourages the provincial government to reach out to the federal government to change what needs to be changed in the legislation to come to a solution.

He says it’s time for them to now pay attention to these recommendations, and to act.

For more information on the investigation, you can find the recommendations here.
