More campsites and amenities proposed for Williams Lake Stampede Ground

The Williams Lake Stampede Association has proposed new developments for the Stampede Grounds.

Williams Lake Stampede Association President Court Smith presented two separate proposals before the Committee of the Whole Council Tuesday night.

The first proposal was to add 25 new campsites behind the curling rink where the former fastball diamonds are at the Stampede Grounds. Smith said the current campground has 60 spaces, and approximately 6,086 nights were spent across all of the campsites during the 2021 season at the campground.

The second was to redevelop with a gazebo, stage, water feature, and walking path in the area of the infield ball diamond.

Smith says the price for the developments is roughly around $1 million.
