Williams Lake Woman sentenced to two years in jail in connection with accident that killed two teens

A woman, charged in connection with an accident that claimed the life of two Williams Lake teenagers, has been sentenced in provincial court.

20-year old Dallas Judd-Rekunyk was sentenced to two years less a day in jail and three years probation.

She is also prohibited from driving for three years.

Judd-Rekunyk pleaded guilty to two counts each of dangerous operation causing death, and dangerous operation causing bodily harm.

Several other charges, including impaired driving causing death, were stayed.

Protestors outside the Williams Lake Law Courts on Wednesday, who were friends of Autumn Wier and Faith Liberty Unger, were unhappy with the sentencing saying it “seemed like she was getting let off really easily”.

Williams Lake RCMP was called to a report of a single-vehicle crash on Highway 20 west of Williams Lake in the early morning hours of October 19th, 2019.
