UPDATE: Highway 97 Now Open South Of Quesnel-One Person Seriously Hurt

Highway 97 South of Quesnel is now open.

It was closed earlier today due to a collision between a semi and an SUV at Sales Road East.

RCMP have confirmed that the driver of the SUV was seriously injured in the crash.

An official on scene also confirms that the jaws of life were needed to get that person out.

They were transported to G.R. Baker Hospital.

The driver of the Transport truck was not injured.

The accident happened at around 8-40 this morning.

An investigation into the cause continues.
