Quesnel residents to have rare opportunity to take part in national health survey

Stats Canada says an important health survey is coming to Quesnel.
850 households have been randomly selected to participate in the Canadian Health Measures Survey.
As part of this survey, a temporary examination centre will be set up in the parking lot of the Bouchie Lake Hall from October 21st through November 24th for respondents to participate in direct physical measures such as blood pressure and biospecimen collection.
That will be done after they have completed an interview at their home.
The data from this survey will be used by researchers to further understand the relationship between disease risk factors and risk conditions such as obesity, hypertension, and cardiovascular disease to name just a few.
The idea is that it will also shed light on illnesses and enable health professionals to be better prepared for public health challenges.
Quesnel is one of just 16 locations across Canada that was selected to this survey.
