A couple of fences took brunt of single vehicle crash in 100 Mile House

The 100 Mile House RCMP attended a single-vehicle accident that turned out to be more.

Sergeant Brian Lamb says a witness saw a grey Chevrolet pickup truck drive onto a property on Horse Lake Road, near Sven Road, last Wednesday, August 12.

Police say the witness saw a female exit the truck and cut the property’s fence before driving onto the field.

“The female suspect then drove erratically into the field before crashing into another fence on the property,” says Lamb. “The female was observed fleeing into the woods and was not located upon the police’s arrival.”

Lamb says police searched the abandoned truck and seized several suspected stolen items.

“We are still going through those items, but we do feel that they were stolen from and during recent break and enters, and other property crimes in the South Cariboo.”

The witness took a photo of the suspect, and police have identified the woman; however, no arrests have been made.
