Annual Maintenance shutdown to begin August 24 at Cariboo Memorial Recreation Complex

The Cariboo Memorial Recreation Complex will be undergoing its annual maintenance shutdown next week.

The City of Williams Lake said it will begin August 24 to give City staff and contractors an opportunity to complete essential maintenance, inspections, repairs and deep cleaning that help keep the facility safe, efficient and enjoyable for residents throughout the year.

“Annual maintenance shutdowns are an important part of preserving our recreation facility and ensuring it remains safe and welcoming for the community,” Director of Community Services, Stacey Miranda, stated in a release.

Monday August 24 to Sunday September 13 the West Fraser Aquatic Centre, including the lap pool, leisure pool, sauna and steam room will be closed during this time.

Monday August 31 to Monday September 7 the Fitness Centre will be temporarily closed to allow for facility maintenance, installation of new equipment, servicing of existing equipment and cleaning.

And Saturday September 5 to Monday September 7 the entire Cariboo Memorial Recreation Complex will be closed as maintenance activities occur throughout the facility.

Facility updates during the shutdown can be found on the City of Williams Lake and Cariboo Memorial Recreation Complex Facebook pages.
