Mock evacuation notification exercise coming to the Tatla Lake Village

The Cariboo Regional District in partnership with West Chilcotin Search and Rescue will be conducting a mock evacuation notification exercise this weekend.

It will be taking place this Saturday (July 4) from 9 am to Noon in the Tatla Lake Village and is designed to help emergency responders practice evacuation notification procedures and strengthen emergency preparedness efforts in the region.

The CRD said residents may notice an increased presence of emergency vehicles and personnel that day and that there is no danger to the public and no action is required unless specifically advised as part of the training exercise.

All personnel involved will be clearly identified and will not be asking for or collecting any personal information.

The CRD said a limited number of residences may receive a mock evacuation notification and information package.

These exercises have been held in the Bouchie Lake and 150 Mile House areas last month.

Anyone with questions about the exercise can contact the Cariboo Regional District Emergency Program Services at 250-855-8924.
