New jobs platform helps people in trades find employment

People working in trades across northern B.C. have a new option to find work, network and connect within the sector.

Founder Tim Mason launched a new free-to-use platform called CrewedUp, which started up after he, along with those around him, had troubles breaking into the job market through other online means such as LinkedIn and Indeed.

“Having worked in this industry for 15 years almost, I’ve never met a single guy that’s gotten hired off of one of those platforms, so I’m just trying to build something for them.”

“I’ve sat at home for months on end trying to look for a job, sending out hundreds of resumes into a void an never hearing back.”

While the platform can be used by any trades person across Canada, Mason said he’s been reaching for those in northern B.C., as he’s worked in the region before, adding the platform has seen a good response.

CrewedUp released roughly two weeks ago, already seeing 46 employers signed up with 375 users, and have been seeing steady daily growth for both.

The platform is currently on desktop and on mobile through search engines, though Mason said a dedicated mobile app is in the works and hopes to have it up in a month or two.
