Williams Lake RCMP seeking witnesses to assault

The Williams Lake RCMP are seeking public assistance on an assault that happened in the city earlier this week.

Police, in a release, say they were called to the Cariboo Memorial Hospital on Monday, May 18, where an individual was attended for a minor laceration from what appears to be an edge weapon, which police determined may have been from an assault.

RCMP say they believe the incident took place in the 700-Block of Borland Street, around 7 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Police canvassed the area and have identified some persons of interest; however, they are still looking to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information.

“The individual took themselves to the hospital,” says Corporal Brett Urano. “The injured person has since been released from the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Williams Lake RCMP detachment at 250-392-6211.
