Charges have now been laid in connection with a fire at the government building in Quesnel earlier this year.
38-year old Haley Reimer is facing one count each of arson damaging property and mischief to property over $5,000.
She’s due back in court on May 12th for an arraignment hearing.
The Quesnel fire department responded to a fire at the government building on Barlow Avenue back on January 7, 2026.
Fire Chief Ron Richert said no one was there when they arrived but there was a pile of clothing on fire underneath the overhang next to the building.
He says it spread and caused fire damage to the wall and some smoke damage inside the building in one of the rooms on the second floor.
RCMP were immediately called in to investigate.
