Barbecue Success for Cops For Cancer

It was another successful barbecue for Cops for Cancer in Williams Lake.
Members of the RCMP were busy flipping burgers as they held their third barbecue of the year to raise funds for The Canadian Cancer Society s Cops for Cancer Tour de North yesterday.
Williams Lake and District Credit Union hosted the event, which according to executive assistant Elaine Sager was a natural fit.
“Several years ago we made a commitment to the Cops for Cancer Tour de North to replace a third of their bike fleet every year…Our six partner Credit Unions and ourselves all put money in that to replace their bikes…It’s a natural fit for us to raise money for our local riders.”
Yesterday’s barbecue raised a total of $571.15 for Cops For Cancer which supports kids with cancer and their families.
The combined total raised from all three barbecues is $2,157.20 which beats last year’s total by $8.30.
Twenty-nine participants will take part in this year’s Canadian Cancer Society’s Cops for Cancer Tour de North.
