51-year old Felix Harper is facing one count each of Assaulting a Police Officer and Resisting Arrest.

He’ll be back in court on Wednesday. (Feb 22)

Police say they spotted Harper, who was wanted on a warrant of arrest for Mischief, walking along Highway 97 near 103 Mile.

They then pursued him into a wooded area where Harper is then accused of threatening them with what is described as a long piece of wood with numerous metal spikes in it.

RCMP say an officer, after Harper failed to respond to several verbal commands to put the weapon down, then used his conducted energy weapon to arrest him.
