Cold weather helps RCMP

There is an upside to all the cold weather we are experiencing .

Williams Lake RCMP say the gold appears to be putting a damper on illegal activities in the city.

Staff Sargent Del Byron says reports to the detachment are down as a result of the cold.

RCMP will get another couple of days of the cold, but by the weekend temperatures will be on the rise with a high Saturday expected to be -9°C and by Monday, we are expecting  3°C across the Cariboo.

Environment Canada Meteorologist Alyssa Charbonneau says it’s safe to say that today was the coldest day of 2017 so far.

She says Williams Lake reached -29.1°C at the airport this morning, and Puntzi Mountain came in at minus -36.5°C.

Something going on in the Cariboo you think people should know about?
