SD27 gets 20 Grand for apprenticeship program

The province has announced 20 thousand dollars for a unique in-school apprenticeship program for School District 27.

The program will allow high school students to stay in school, work at earning an apprenticeship and get paid to stay.

Donna Barnett, Minister of State for Rural Development and MLA for Cariboo-Chilcotin says it’s a great program…”and it’s a great program and it’s a great opportunity for our young people. You know in order to keep youth in school now, the world has changed and it’s not all about going to
college or university”

The funding goes toward supporting staffing needs and will also aid students in making the transition from technical training to work-based training.
