100 Mile House Resident Faces Bear Trafficking Charges

A 100 Mile House man is in hot water after being charged with the trafficking of dead bear parts.

Deputy Chief Chris Doyle of the BC Conservation Officer Service gives us the details.

“9 counts related to the unlawful possession and trafficking in bear parts were laid against a 100 Mile Resident and we can’t release any further details on this investigation at this time.”

According to the BC Conservation Officer Service Facebook page, the man, 40 year old Hong Hui Xie trafficked bear paws and a gall bladder separate from the carcass in 2 separate occurrences between October 2015 and September 2016.

Xie, is not being held in custody and is expected to appear in court in Kamloops on November 24th.
