More Than 200 Quesnel Residents Without Power

Power is out in the Quesnel area.

BC Hydro Spokesman Dave Moser confirms that as of 1-36 this afternoon more than 200 customers lost electricity…

“Geographically it is described as south of Paradise Road, north of Rawlings Road and west of Longbar Road and we’re showing the cause as wires being down which probably means that the weather system in the Quesnel area right now has caused some damage.”

Moser says crews have been dispatched, adding that this is a high priority for BC Hydro and that the power should be back on soon, if it isn’t already.

He also cautions people that if they do see wires down to stay at least 10 metres away for your safety.
