Wells Welcomes Visitors To ArtsWells

ArtsWells, all things art, is underway in the normally tiny community of Wells.

Mayor Robin Sharpe says their normal population of about 400 in the summer will swell to more than 2,000, maybe 25-hundred, and he couldn’t be happier about it.

“It is really good for the area, it’s a huge boost for the merchants in town, this is the biggest weekend of the year for them as far as the revenue concerns but its also great for people to come up and see the area and they enjoy it, you know it’s great advertising for the community as well.”

Sharpe says it’s a chance to showcase Barkerville and the Bowron Lakes as well.

ArtsWells runs through Monday.
