It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas at the Tourism Discovery Centre

The Williams Lake and District Chamber of commerce will be kicking off the Holiday Season with a special annual event.

This Friday (November 21) they’ll officially begin their “Spark Into Christmas” campaign at the Tourism Discovery Centre.

Chamber Executive Director Tamara Garreau said the community is invited to come by and spend a festive afternoon with them as they await the countdown to the balcony light-up at 4:30.

“This celebration launches six weeks of Christmas fun,” Garreau said, “At the same time we’ll also be supporting the Williams Lake Salvation Army by accepting donations of food, gift cards, cash, or warm clothing that can be dropped off at the Tourism Discovery Centre from November 21 to December 23.”

Garreau noted in all the time she has been with the Chamber the community of Williams Lake has been very generous with their donations as they usually have to empty the box quite often that people put their donations in.

“Spark Into Christmas” will also see the return of a much loved Yuletide event.

“This Saturday (November 22) is our annual Made in the Cariboo Craft Fair from 10 am until 3 pm. We’ll have over 30 vendors from all over the region taking part offering wood carvings, jewellery, soaps, baked goods, lots of amazing and unique items.”

Garreau said to bring your holiday spirit this Friday and help light up the season for a great cause.
