A new portal is being launched by Northern Health to help residents know how to access healthcare in the event local services are interrupted.

 A baby girl, Elinora DeGrasse, was born at 2:51 p.m. on New Year's Day at Cariboo Memorial Hospital in Williams Lake.

Northern Health won the Strengthening Health & Wellness Award in this year's Health Quality BC Awards for its Virtual Clinical Pharmacy Services pilot program at G.R. Baker Memorial Hospital in Quesnel. The program saw pharmacy referrals in the hospital go from zero to over 300 during the pilot program's run.

Thirty-four new TVs are being installed in the third-floor patient rooms of G.R. Baker Memorial Hospital. The Quesnel Hospital Auxiliary has been planning this project for almost two years. The first TV went up the morning of December 4, and the rest will be installed over the winter season.

Interior Health has advised Williams Lake and the surrounding area residents that Cariboo Memorial Hospital's emergency room will be closed until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday October 4.

The Quesnel Hopsital Auxiliary is celebrating 115 years of service on the weekend of September 12 to 14. Over the years, the Auxiliary has contributed more than $2 million in hospital and patient care items.

Northern Health advises Quesnel and area residents that the emergency room at G.R. Baker Memorial Hospital will be closed from 6:00 p.m. Friday, July 18, until 8:00 a.m. Saturday, July 19.
