This new project is a partnership between the Tŝilhqot’in National Government and Red Road Recovery. Construction is expected to begin in September 2025.

A man was struck by a truck on Highway 97, 40 kilometres south of Quesnel, when he was jumping into traffic. Quesnel RCMP say the man was airlifted to Vancouver General Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

The highway was closed for several hours but has since re-opened to single-lane alternating.
