Campfire ban lifted across Cariboo Fire Centre
The Cariboo Fire Centre has rescinded its ban on category 1 campfires, effective as of 12 pm on Friday, September 26. The campfire ban was first issued back in August 2025.
Another Evacuation Alert lifted in the Chilcotin
The Evacuation Alert for the Nuntsi Creek Fire area issued by the Xeni Gwet'in First Nation Government, Tsilhqot'in National Government and the Cariboo Regional District has been lifted.

Earlier today (September 23) the Cariboo Regional District Emergency Operations Centre lifted the Alert issued back on August 31st for the Tsetzi Lake Fire area 125 kilometres west of Quesnel to an all clear.

The Cariboo Regional District Emergency Operations Centre lifted today (September 22) the Suey Bay Fire Area Evacuation Alert.
‘Roos game to still go on despite afternoon fire at West Fraser Centre
A fire in the West Fraser Centre on Saturday afternoon almost caused the Quesnel Kangaroos' season opener against the Williams Lake Stampeders to be canceled. Crews were able to get on site and begin clean up in time, assuring that the game will go on.

Truck fire the cause of grassland fire near 100 Mile House ice rink
A truck caught fire on Wrangler Way in 100 Mile House, that spread onto the nearby grass, creating a wildland fire. 100 Mile House Fire Department was able to contain the blaze quickly, and report no one was injured.
Weather increased fire activity on the Suey Bay Wildfire
The Suey Bay wildfire on Horsefly Lake is estimated to be 2,331 hectares in size.
