Its good news for Cariboo residents as Sobey’s Inc. announced Friday that all Safeway locations in British Columbia would be reducing the price of produce
The price drop comes as part of an initiative launched in 2013 that is aimed at helping Canadians eat better.
It’s a matter of priorities both for the consumer and the company says Keri Scobie, the Manager of Communications for Sobey’s in Western Canada:
“It’s a priority for us, so we can take those synergies that we have and invest them in things that we know are really important to our customers… and that’s food and competitive pricing.”
According to Scobie, the price change isn’t a reaction to the low Canadian dollar, though the timing is fortuitous for British Columbian shoppers.
