Williams Lake having a community challenge during the month of June for ParticipACTION

The Cariboo Memorial Recreation Complex and City of Williams Lake is encouraging the community to get active this June.

The City will be competing in the ParticipACTION Community Challenge, which is a national initiative awarding the most active community $100,000 to support local physical activity and sport initiatives.

Some of the community challenges include disc golf, pickleball, or others that can be done on one’s own time such as walking a pet, kayaking or even flying a kite.

Minutes of physical activity no longer need to be tracked, as community winners are now determined by total individual and organization registrations, and number of activities and participants tracked by participating organizations.

Anyone wanting to participate can sign up must do so before June 1st, and can be done on the ParticipACTION website here.

More information about the Community Challenge can be found on the City of Williams Lake’s website here.
