The wildfire burning 70 kilometres West of Williams Lake off Highway 20, South of Alexis Creek has been down graded to being Under Control.
Fire Information Officer at the Cariboo Fire Centre, Jeromy Corrigan, said BC Wildfire Service crews were on scene of the 133 Hectare wildfire for the entire weekend.
“Over 40 firefighters are on the scene today (Monday) as they continue to solidify 100 foot containment around the wildfire and they are focusing on extinguishing hotspots throughout the day.”
Corrigan noted that BC Wildfire Crews had favourable conditions yesterday (Sunday) to action this fire as the area received 10 millimetres of rain.
This wildfire was discovered Friday (May 3) afternoon.
