2,935 BC Hydro customers in the 100 Mile House area were without power for most of the morning.
At around 12:30 this morning (February 9th) a vehicle accident took place north west of Little Fort Highway 24 and south east of Horse Lake Road affecting structures that gave power to the area.
Community Relations, Dave Mosure says their crews were immediately dispatched.
“When they got on scene, they started repairs for a broken pole and some of the adjacent structures so, upstream and down stream of where the actual broken pole is.” says Mosure.
“The poles had damaged cross arms so, quite a bit of work to repair.”
Mosure added that the power was able to come back at around 6:30am, with the delay caused by challenging weathering conditions, and emergency crews doing their job before allowing BC Hydro on scene.
He says if you come across a power line that’s down, consider it live and call 9-1-1, as it’s considered an emergency situation.
