Marie Sharpe replacement school concept showing a success

School District 27 held their Marie Sharpe replacement school showing for public feedback.

The purpose of the recently proposed replacement school is to go to a two story school, that opens up the site for more options.

Superintendent Chris Van Der Mark says that even with the short notice, they got a lot of people that came through and feedback.

“It’s really encouraging that a bunch of the partners in the community are talking about these things together,” says Van Der Mark.

“and hopefully finding ways to maximize and ultimately make better opportunities for the entire community and surrounding area.”

Van Der Mark noted that there was lot of interest in the concepts with a covered multi-use facility, but were followed by questions on if it’s the right space and size.

However, he was unable to say if there were any concepts that had more interest than others, but will have a better understanding once their survey concludes.

For those curious about the concepts and where to give feedback can find them on the School District’s website here.
