Quesnel cowgirls finished one-two in the Ladies Barrel Racing at the 95th annual Williams Lake Stampede.
Mariah Mannering captured the title with a time of 16.30 seconds in Friday morning’s slack performance.
First place paid $6,711.60.
Lane Wills was the only who came close to Mannering with a time of 16.35 seconds.
Willis took home $5,704.86.
Two other BC cowgirls took home a cheque as Vanessa Leggett from Kamloops was 6th and Tosha Seitz from Savona earned a 9/10 split.
The top positions in the Wild Cowgirl Race were also from the Cariboo.
Kayle Hartman from 100 Mile House edged out Amanda Lulua from 150 Mile by about a length and a half in Sunday’s race.
The top two in each of three heats qualified for the final.
Alan Puhallo’s team from Quesnel, many times a winner in the Wild Horse Race in Williams Lake, had to settle for second place this year.
Mark Trabysh from Hairy Hill, Alberta won.
Jaret Cooper from Vernon, B.C. took home the championship buckle in the Novice Saddle Bronc.
Other champions included Clint Laye (Cadogan, Alta) and Micheal Solberg (Sunnynook, Alta) in the Bareback, Tyler Milligan (Oklahoma) in the Tie-Down Roping, Caitlyn Dahm (Kansas) in the Ladies Break-Away Roping, Layton Green (Meeting Creek, Alta) won the Saddle Bronc, Ringo Robinson (Idaho) was first in the Steer Wrestling, Tyler Craig (Crossfield, Alta) captured the Bull Riding title, and Hayden Mulvey from Brooks, Alberta was number on in the Steer Riding.
Finally, there were co-champions in the Team Roping.
Kyle Wanchuk (Sherwood Park, Alta) and Luke Scocdopole (Big Valley, Alta) tied Trey Gallais (Sundre, Alta)and Tristin Woolsey (Nanton, Alta) on the final day.
Gallais and Woolsey also won last year in Williams Lake.
