Williams Lake Council gets behind proposed manufacturing plant

Williams Lake Council showed full support for a new housing project in the City.

This project from Massive Canada Building Systems Inc would look to implement more jobs and much needed housing within the community as soon as early 2024.

“We found an opportunity where we could create a much needed product, better, faster, and cheaper, and produce it at a massive level to alleviate some of the congestions with respect to housing” says Deepsingh Sandhu, Chief Investment Officer.

“Municipalities have been having a very tough time dealing with a shortage of housing, and not enough housing being built.”

During last night’s meeting, Councillor Scott Nelson said that the City is currently behind in housing by 800 units.

A deal is already in place for Massive Canada to take over the former Jackpine Engineered Wood Plant, with renovations looking to take place this summer.

In terms of hiring, the company will look to hire young, and are aiming at 25 percent capacity.
