RCMP respond to fatal accident near Williams Lake

A collision on Highway 97 north of Williams Lake claimed a life.

Corporal Madonna Saunderson, with North District RCMP, confirms that police responded to a two vehicle collistion at around 5-37 on Sunday (June 4) evening.

“Two vehicles involved, sadly one person was deceased at the scene and another individual taken to hospital with what has been described as non-life threatening injuries. The investigation is active and ongoing and more details may be released as they become available.”

Saunderson says the accident involved a pickup truck and a passenger vehicle.

It happened at Highway 97 and Kragbak Road in Deep Creek.

The Highway was closed for several hours.
