City of Williams Lake sets new record in building permits

The City of Williams Lake Council set a building permits record for the first six months.

Mayor Surinderpal Rathor says the total amount so far this year is $209,500,000, which he says no other year has gotten close.

Though, a substantial chunk of the amount is from one project.

“The leadership of todays Council has provided 209 and a half million dollars, which includes a $199 million from the hospital.” says Rathor.

“It’s a record in the history of Williams Lake.”

Other than the hospital, Rathor says over four million dollars went towards residential buildings, with commercial being over five million.

He says that this progress has been done within the first six months, with a long way to go.
