Spokesperson Mary Sjostrom says the campaign was officially launched on Sunday.
“The folks need to watch their mailboxes because we will be mailing out our community report.  Our campaign we’re going to run until December 15th, so folks have got a bit of time.  I’m really hoping that with the support of our anonymous donor again this year we have up to $50,000 that we can match, so for every dollar that comes in we can get it matched.”
Sjostrom says there are a variety of ways that people can donate.
“They can donate by popping a cheque in the mail.   They can go onto our website at [email protected] or to www.quesnelcommunityfoundation.com.  Or they can give our office a call and talk to Patty at 985-1612.”
Sjostrom says anything over 25 dollars will get a tax receipt.
   $152,222 was raised last year.
The Foundation’s endowment is now up to almost 4 million dollars, and the money earned from that will go back out into the community in the form of grants.
More than 100 thousand dollars went out last year.
