Most charges stayed against 100 Mile House kidnapping suspect

A man accused of kidnapping in 100 Mile House will not be spending any more time in jail.
The majority of the charges against 29-year old Bradley Anderson were stayed prior to the start of his trial, including kidnapping using a firearm, pointing a firearm, and forcible confinement.
The BC Prosecution Service says the Crown Counsel with conduct of the file concluded that the charge assessment standard was no longer met.
It says the remaining charge, an allegation of uttering threats, was resolved when the accused agreed to enter into a 12-month peace bond.
The charges were laid following an incident back in June of last year.
100 Mile RCMP received a report of a man taking a woman by force from a residence in the Merkley Crescent area.
The suspect is then accused of driving her south on Highway 97 toward Cache Creek.
Police say she was eventually located safe by Ashcroft RCMP.
A suspect was later arrested near the original residence hiding about 50 feet up a 100 foot Fir tree with the help of a dog that was overly interested in the tree.
