BC Wildfire Service is actioning a wildfire that was discovered yesterday approximately 17 kilometers south of Puntzi Lake and 9 kilometers south of Highway 20.

“The fire is approximately 240 hectares in size as of now (October 11),” Regional Fire Control Officer Reg Trapp said, “We currently have one unit crew, a ten pack of contractors, 4 pieces of heavy equipment, and two intermediate helicopters working the fire”.

Trapp said the fire has slowed down from yesterday (Monday) when strong winds came through the area and that it’s a lot calmer today.
