Williams Lake First Nation Could Join Pipeline Group

Williams Lake First Nation has put out a survey for their residents for feedback on joining an Indigenous led pipeline group.

This comes as the Western Indigenous Pipeline Group looks to purchase large stake in the Trans Mountain Pipeline.

The potential acquisition is so that Indigenous communities can ensure that environmental, economic, and cultural goals are met.

From the Williams Lake First Nation news release, they say that they were identified as a nation that may be potentially impacted by the pipeline for numerous reasons.

The also say that the pipeline won’t run through Williams Lake First Nation, but it will be in close proximity.

For more information, and to find the survey, you can find it on the Williams Lake First Nation Website here.
