RCMP give credit to Good Samaritan who saves driver

A good Samaritan’s quick action is being credited by the Williams Lake RCMP in saving and preventing any further injury to a driver.

Brady Custaloe called the Williams Lake RCMP on Saturday at approximately 12:27 pm to report that a blue Dodge pickup truck was driving on the curb heading northbound on Mackenzie Avenue North near the Desniqi Service Society.

Custaloe advised that he saw the Dodge veering off the right side of the roadway as he drove behind it in his car.

After closer inspection, Custaloe could see that the driver of the pick-up truck was hunched over the wheel and was slowing but still traveling at about 10 to 15 km per hour as the vehicle went up and down the curb.

Custaloe quickly parked his car and ran after the truck jumping into the cab and stopping it from moving any further.

There was no damage to the truck or property as a result of the incident. The driver of the vehicle was taken to the Cariboo Regional Hospital where he is receiving medical care.

“Mr. Custaloe is certainly a ‘Good Samaritan’ for rescuing this gentleman,” said Williams Lake RCMP Staff Sgt. Del Byron.
