BC Hydro spokesperson Bob Gammer says the power was out this afternoon to a vast area of Quesnel.
“We have nearly 1,500 customers out in downtown Quesnel. That outage area actually stretches a little bit into West Quesnel. Power went out just before 3-30 this afternoon.”
Gammer says it appears that birds were to blame.
“Crews were able to basically able to clear this one up right away, as soon as they got there, so power was only out for about an hour. What they found is that this must have been bird related as they removed a pile of sticks off of the pole where the power line is.”
