Christmas Comes Early to Salvation Army through Williams Lake Fire Department

About 30 Firefighters took to their trucks to canvass the City of Williams Lake to bring Christmas early to the Salvation Army Tuesday evening.

Fire Chief Des Webster says they had started at 6 and finished up around 9.

“This is the 5th year I think we’ve done this in July just to help out the local food bank.”

“As always the people of Williams Lake are extremely generous and we ended up with about 4 to 5 pickup loads full of food for the food bank.”

Webster says the Department does the event near the end of July because it is typically a slow time for the food bank in collecting donations.

He encourages residents whose homes they may have missed to head down to the Salvation Army with their donations.
