1,614 Days incident Free: Williams Lake Pinnacle Pellet receives Safety Award

Pinnacle Pellet in Williams Lake received a safety award for having 1,614 days incident free.

CEO Rob McCurdy, who met with employees Tuesday morning, says he’s quite proud.

“When you look around…at the record compared to other forestry, other mining, and other heavy industry, this is a record that stands up against  many of the industries in the province.”

Scott Bax, Senior Vice President of Operations says the award, which has now been presented to the Williams Lake Division for the 4th consecutive year has nothing to do with luck.

“You don’t generate a result like 1,500 days loss time accident-free without everyone working together each and every day, looking out for each other taking care of each of other.”

“None of us are perfect and we all make mistakes. Really knowing that other employees have your back and will help carry that weight is a really big deal.”

Bax says other Pinnacle Plants will be using the results from Williams Lake to learn and grow.
