The City of Quesnel has been chosen as the regional host for the Canada Winter Games Torch Celebrations.
Williams Lake was also in the running for our region, in an online vote.
Cariboo North MLA Coralee Oakes made the announcement this afternoon at the Union of BC Municipalities convention in Whistler.
The “Illuminate The North” tour will bring the torch to a number of communities in the north, before it’s featured in the opening ceremonies in Prince George on February 13th.
Terrace and Fort St. John were also chosen to host a Community Torch Celebration.
