Cariboo Cattlemen’s Association To Host 2019 BC Cattlemen’s AGM and Convention

The 91st Annual BC Cattlemen’s Association AGM will be coming to Williams Lake.

The Cariboo Cattlemen’s Association will be hosting their annual general meeting and convention May 23-25, 2019 at the Cariboo Memorial Complex.

“It’s very exciting,” said Cordy Cox, President of the Cariboo Cattlemen’s Association and Chair of the 2019 AGM.

“The past AGM and convention that we had was actually one of the highest attended events for the BC Cattlemen’s annual general meetings. As you know Williams Lake is surrounded by a really strong ranching economy and we’re super central so I think it’s a great place to host it and it’s going to bring a lot of economic opportunity to our city as well.”

Cox said they are looking forward to having between 400 to 500 registrants alone.

“The exciting part of it is that it’s also a convention with an education day and speakers that are going to be coming from across Canada as well as the United States, and not only that but it’s accompanied by a large tradeshow that will be featuring businesses from across Canada and also large equipment displays.”

The Cariboo Cattlemen’s Association hosted the event in 2010.

This year’s theme for the BC Cattlemen’s AGM and Convention is ‘Ranching Strong: Managing for Profitability in the Cow/Calf Operation.’

“I think that part of the theme ranching strong is surrounded around the continuity and the strength of the ranching families that have been through the fires that we’ve had in 2017,” Cox said.

“They’re forging ahead and being progressive moving into the future no matter what the situation.”
