How will March start in the Cariboo..like a lion or lamb?
Not even Carmen Hartt, Meteorologist for Environment Canada knows for sure.
“Well I think in this case we’re talking about mild weather in terms of precipitation, but in terms of temperature it’s really cold so I don’t know if you would call that a cold lamb or what you would call it, but it’s definitely a cold and dry beginning for March for a lot of British Columbia”.
As far as the long term forecast, Hartt said it looks likes this cold and dry weather is going stick with us for at least the beginning of March with temperatures still well below their normals for this time of year but not as cold as last month.
And is this typical for this time of year?
“Normally for March we see highs around plus six for the month,” Hartt said.
“Our highs for the start of this month will be around minus ten, so we’re well below, almost fifteen degrees below normal temperatures so this is not typical at all.”
