Big Changes To This Year’s Quesnel Self Development Program

The Miss Quesnel Self Development Program is getting a new look this year.

This year’s pageant is set for tomorrow night and it will culminate with not one, but three winners this year.

Sierra Cook is the new Director of the Miss Quesnel Self Development Program…

“This year we’ve decided to make some changes, so we will be crowning three princesses because our program is moving to be more accepting and more diverse and we believe that these girls deserve equal representation, equal chances to talk and to represent other youth of our community.”

In the past one Queen and two Princesses were selected.

Cook says this year they will have three Ambassadors of equal reign.

The first step towards that took place last night…

“Our candidates just finished their speech and talent night yesterday so they each presented a prepared speech and a talent of their choosing. We had lots of incredible talents. We had special effects make-up, we had rodeo roping, we had singers, it was lots of fun. So the top two of those talents and the top two of those prepared speeches will be presented on Friday, which is our pageant night, so on pageant night we will crown our new ambassador team and the girls will be answering an impromptu question. So that is happening in Chuck Mobley Theatre at 7p.m. on Friday.”

There are a total of eight candidates this year.
