Fortis BC is anticipating to take on a natural gas pipeline project this summer in the Williams Lake area.
Shelley Thompson, Community and Aboriginal Relations Manager with Fortis BC says the transmission line upgrade will be taking place on top of Fox Mountain.
Although Fortis BC has already been in discussions with landowners last month on the project, they are looking at continuing them with First Nations says Bob Gibney, Manager of Corporate Services and Aboriginal Affairs.
Thompson adds that Fortis BC will be looking to complete the project with as much responsibility as possible.
Thompson and Gibney say depending on the project’s application to the BC Oil and Gas Commission, it could also begin in the fall where it is expected to take 10 weeks to complete.
