Downtown Fire Information Booth Now Up And Running In Quesnel

North Cariboo residents now have a place to go to get first hand information on the wildfires in the area.

Mayor Bob Simpson explains…

“The wildfire branch has worked with us and our city staff have enabled them to set up an information kiosk at spirit square in our new community space that will open later on in the summer so we are making it available to them.”

Simpson says they were planning on opening the public washrooms today anyways so the wildfire branch will now take over that front office.

“You’ll start to see maps and information bulletins being put up on those windows for people to view and then there will be limited kind of hours during the afternoon where the wildfire personnel will actually be on site and can answer some specific questions.”

Simpson says it’s a nice additional opportunity for people to get direct information from the wildfire branch.
